As human beings, we are created by God of body and soul. When each of these is nourished, we become far richer than we often realise. Yet many of our brothers and sisters—both near and far—experience deep hunger on one or both of these levels.
This is why, on my upcoming missionary journey, I hope not only to offer practical and material help, but also to bring spiritual support. My desire is that every person I meet may come to know that, no matter how poor they may appear in the eyes of the world, they already possess the greatest treasure of all: the infinite love of God.
I go as a humble servant of Christ and of His Church, hoping to reflect even a small portion of His tenderness, mercy, and compassion. If, through this mission, even one heart is reminded that they are seen, valued, and cherished by the Lord, then the journey will have fulfilled its purpose.
